Dr. Alisa M Hilewsky
Counselor, PsyD, LPC, DocEduL
I believe that therapy is a cooperative process that requires a strong, trusting relationship between a client and the therapist. I provide a warm, safe, and accepting environment in which one can explore a wide range of issues and concerns. Examples of such issues include depression, anxiety, childhood behavioral issues, adjustment concerns, family and interpersonal relationship difficulties, and life transition issues. I have a history of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of contexts. The ideal client is one who is interested in self-exploration and the possibility of change.
I have experience in and enjoy working with groups. I also conduct evaluations such as Mental Health Evaluations, Driver's License Evaluations, and ADHD evaluations. I have extensive experience working with developmental disabilities and individuals with special needs. Among such disorders appropriate for therapy are those of higher functioning level.
I am a fully licensed counselor and also hold a Doctoral Educational Limited license in psychology, under the supervision of Dr. James Hansen, a fully licensed psychologist. According to licensing law, a limited licensed psychologist may practice under the supervision of a fully licensed psychologist.
