Therapy style strongly influenced by time spent with Carl Rogers and Milton Erickson, and also influenced by detective Columbo, Bob Newhart, Virginia Satir, and a bit by Freud and Adler. My approach is a gentle, supportive one. Among my favorite areas of work are multiple personalities, child rearing, play therapy, hypnosis and conjoint marriage and family therapy. Although I enjoy all ages, I have a special interest in working with children and the elderly.
I have been an "Approved Supervisor with The American Association of Marriage and family therapists and enjoy mentoring students in mental health fields. I have had dozens of interns over the years. I have had extensive experience with therapeutic interventions with children of all ages, Dissociative Identity Disorders, anxious, and depressed persons.
My therapy could what used to be called "eclectic," but now is called "integrative." That is, I model my therapy after combinations of all my heroes including Detective Columbo, t Bob Newhart, Carl Rogers, Freud, Virginia Satire, Behavior Modification, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis theories and more.
