A couple sought therapy. The concern was poor communication. At first, they worked on small issues. The focus was on intention toward other person's views and attention to being open and able to listen. Homework after ever session. Power struggles were addressed. When a small frustration was presented, the issue was addressed until the real concern was understood. Looked at the family system for historical insight in order to develop personal insight into beliefs and opinions. This gave them knowledge of each other. They re-build their relationship with new insight and choices.
